DuPont, through it's Volunteer Recognition , Program, donated $1,000 to BHS on November 30, 2001. Marilyn Kinney, BHS Chairwoman, received the check on behalf of BHS; Randee King, DuPont Employee and BHS Volunteer; and Don Weaver, Plant Manager at DuPont's La Porte Facility.
Ms. King is receiving a nice certificate commending her for her volunteer work in the community from Mr. Weaver. It was through Ms. King's efforts and grant application that DuPont became aware of the work BHS does in Baytown's Animal Shelter and granted the $1,000 donation to aid in that mission.
BHS is grateful, to both Ms. King and to DuPont for their support! DuPont is now among the growing list of corporate donors that have joined in what BHS is striving to accomplish in Baytown's Shelter. "This money provides a substantial boost in our ability to aid the animals," Ms. Kinney, BHS Chairman, said. "We appreciate so much Ms. King's work with BHS and DuPont's generous gift. Every penny of it will be spent on behalf of these animals, whether it be for vaccines, canned foods, mothers' replacement milk, or veterinarian care for an injury or condition that can't be treated with first aid."
As generous as the gift is, it won't last too long. With the tremendous number of animals in need, the funds will be depleted quickly. BHS urges everyone to donate funds for the animals as they can afford. Your tax deductible check may be mailed to BHS at P. O. Box 2772, Baytown, TX 77522-2772. There are also collection boxes in the shape of doghouses placed in businesses around town. BHS receives no money from any governmental entities and operates strictly from donations.
Funds donated to BHS are used strictly and directly for the benefit of animals. We are all volunteers, there are no paid positions with BHS.
