Thank you for considering one of Baytown Humane Society's pets to foster or adopt!  The animals in our Program have stolen our hearts; so, we have their best interests in mind at all times.

Please note that this application is for the available animals in the BHS Foster

Care Program and/or animals we are posting as a courtesy to someone else.

​

Upon completion of this application, you may be contacted by an Adoption Counselor to discuss possible placement or to assist in finding an animal more compatible with your lifestyle. There are no guarantees in life; but, this should be a great experience for you and the pet.

Placements are made with the goal of a successful match in mind!

TO BE CONSIDERED A POTENTIAL ADOPTER OR FOSTER VOLUNTEER YOU MUST: 

​

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Have identification showing your present address

  • Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord

  • Not be adopting the animal for a gift

  • Not have had an animal that has contracted any contagious disease within the last six weeks

  • If adopting, be willing & able to spend the time & money to provide proper care including, but not limited to:

    • Vaccinations​

    • Medical treatments and prescribed medications

    • Regular heartworm medication without fail

    • Appropriate food considering the animal's health and age

    • Training

    • Hugs, snuggles, walks and playtime
