Wade's Story

Email from "Wade Fans" all over is coming in, asking for news of him!

And there IS news! All of it GOOD!

Wade is doing wonderfully well! The "5:00 shadow" on his left side and hip has turned to the softest peach fuzz. He gets around perfectly well, except on the laminate flooring. That's a bit slippery, so every rubber-backed rug in the house has been put down in little "Wade Trails" all over the house.

He uses them like we would stepping stones!

He underwent his second heartworm treatment on May 15th and is well on his way to a healthy heart. He has done famously with the treatment. In fact, trying to keep him calm has proven to be the real challenge. He's young, he feels good and he wants to PARTY!!

In the photo below, Wade has been playing hide & seek in the comforter.

Another new thing about this sweet creature is that one ear is now STANDING! Yep, his left ear started standing straight all the time about 2 weeks ago.. My theory is that all the power in that left hip now has no place to go except to the head...

So, it's LEG POWER holding up that left ear!!

The other ear still flops, but what a cute expression it gives him!

Quizzical, Comical and Endearing all at once.

This intelligent boy has also mastered the dog door! It was like a child's fascination with a revolving door. When he first got the hang of it, he went in and out about a dozen times - just because he Can!! See?

Wade has quite a fan club! Just yesterday he received a new, unique chew toy from Martha in St. Louis, Missouri! Here he is doing his best to destroy it, even though Martha assures us that it's almost impossible to do.

They are handmade and very durable. We shall see!

Thank you, Martha! He loves it!!

In just a couple of weeks, Wade will be neutered, and then he will be ready for his forever home.

The family that takes Wade into its heart and home will be really blessed.

He's as sweet and as loving as he is handsome. He's housetrained and happy, too!

Your donations allowed Wade prompt and proper vet care; and your donations will continue to help other animals that require medical attention. Not all injuries are as spectacular as Wade's, but they are injuries, nonetheless.

Disease is another big-ticket item.
