Well, if you haven't already bumped into it, you will soon learn that
Kroger has suspended its Share Card Program. We are sincerely bummed
about this, as it was a source of revenue that we really counted on; and,
because of all your participation, was a profitable source at that!
It seems that Kroger has decided to replace that program with
another one called Neighbor to Neighbor. I am praying that each and every
one of you will follow the instructions given on this "Customer Letter"
and continue to donate to BHS through your purchases at Kroger. I'm sure
they are counting on this being just inconvenient enough to
discourage people from doing it, but PLEASE go to the trouble this one
time, and you will be set for a year... Oh, yes, they do make us go
through this all over again next year, too; but, please just roll
with it! We need the revenue!!
Below is the link that takes you directly to the letter that should be
printed out, and presented to the Kroger cashier the next time you shop
there. The cashier will scan the bar code at the bottom of the letter,
and assign that code to your Kroger card. You can then do away with the
letter *or* pass it along to someone who will add us to their card as
well. From that point, for each purchase you make a percentage will
accrue in BHS's account. No more need for a sticker or an additional card
to make that happen...that's the one tiny bright spot!
Posting this page is the most cost efficient way for us to get the word
out! Having to mail this to all our supporters would be VERY costly!
However,
IF you don't have a printer or would just prefer that we provide
you the letter by snail mail, please send us an
email
including your name and physical address. We will happily print it, and
mail it to you so that you can take it with you the next time you go to
Kroger.
PLEASE, PLEASE go to the trouble to participate! As I said, the loss of
this revenue stream is substantial! I'm sure economic times are causing
Kroger to do this, and I'm sure all nonprofits who were with the Share
Card will suffer; but, it IS free money, so to speak, and worth the little
bit of effort it takes to stay in the game!
Thank you so much!! And just so you will see
some faces
of who it will help; these are little guys we have in the program
right
now (but not yet on the site), who are suffering from some malady or
another, and incurring vet costs at a regular pace until they are well
enough to be spayed/neutered and put up for adoption...
Here's the link again.... PLEASE open it, print it, and take it with you
to Kroger!
Thank you
so much for your continued support!
Each one of you helps more than
you know, and together you are a true force for the animals!
